There are many studies
that have been conducted by the United States Census Bureau (U.S.
Census Bureau), private organizations, and research institutions
tracking the of the LEP population in the United States. This
section provides Federal and State studies of LEP individuals and
includes data on the LEP population in New York State and in other
states.
Census Data- Includes Data from the United States Census Bureau on languages spoken in the United States by LEP individuals. Since the last Census was taken in 2000, this data includes the 2006 American Community Survey (ACS) data on languages spoken by LEP individuals nationally and in New York State. Other Groups- Are research studies and data compiled by private and non-profit organizations based on U.S. Census data and independent research studies. The data includes national LEP numbers and New York specific studies, with a greater focus on Spanish-speaking LEP individuals. |
