The Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA) issued a one-time non-assistance payment in August 2009 to help with the back-to-school (BTS) costs for low-income New York households with children aged three through 17 eligible for temporary assistance (TA) and/or food stamps (FS) during the month of July 2009.
Additionally, on October 21, 2009, OTDA provided districts with a list of potentially eligible cases in which children appeared eligible for the one-time only non-assistance payment made to eligible households in August 2009, but who had not received a BTS payment as of October 16, 2009. The list included those individuals identified as active or sanctioned with an effective date in July 2009.
