The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has released its cost-of-living adjustments for the Food Stamp (FS) program, which will become effective October 1, 2008. These adjustments will affect the following standards:
• FS standard deduction
• Excess shelter maximum and standard deduction amounts
• Income limits for the 130% Gross Income Test, the 165% Gross Income Test and the 200% Gross Income Test
• Net income eligibility levels
• Thrifty Food Plan (TFP) FS benefit amounts
