This policy bulletin informs Job Center staff of a notice being mailed to the class members affected by Walker v. Doar, a class action lawsuit pending court settlement. The notice will be mailed to all individuals who participated in the New York City Parks Opportunity Program (POP) between March 2003 and October 29, 2006, and whose Family Assistance grant was reduced to zero while they were POP. The lawsuit concerns the Food Stamp Transitional Benefit Alternative Program (TBA), which was not received by POP participants during this time period.
