Documents : Public Access to Fair Hearing Decisions

August 17, 1989 Letter to P.O.O.R. from Robert Tengeler (Redaction of Identifying Information from Fair Hearing Decisions)

In this letter, Assistant Counsel Robert Tengeler describes how identifying information will be redacted from Fair Hearing Decisions that are made available to the public. Mr. Tengeler states that

"we will provide the initials of the appellant and the fair hearing number, when redacting, identifying information with respect to particular appellants. We feel that this process will meet the confidentiality requirements as set forth in Section 136 of the Social Services Law."
