In response to the court orders issued in Almenares v Wyman, 334 F.Supp. 512 (S.D.N.Y. 1971), affd. 453 F.2d 1075 (2d Cir. 1971), cert. denied 405 U.S. 944, 92 S.Ct. 962, 30 L.Ed.2d 815 (1972), New York's Fair Hearing regulations were recodified at 18 NYCRR Part 358 on April 21, 1972, effective April 22, 1972.
With periodic amendments, the 1972 version of these Fair Hearing regulations remained in effect until January 15, 1989 when 18 NYCRR Part 358 was again recodified.
This file contains New York State Department of Social Services (NYSDSS) Administrative Letter 72 PWD-61, which distributed the recodified version of 18 NYCRR Part 358, as ordered by Acting Commissioner Barry L. Van Lare, to be filed with the New York State Secretary of State, effective April 22, 1972.
