07-OCFS-ADM-10: New York State Disaster Plan - Local Department of Social Services Requirements
The purpose of this Administrative Directive is to advise local departments of social services (LDSS) of recent changes in federal Title IV-B State Plan requirements. The federal Child and Family Services Improvement Act of 2006, P.L. 109-288, added section 422(b)(16) of the Social Security Act (SSA) [42 U.S.C. ยง622(b)(16)]. Section 422(b)(16) of the SSA sets forth the requirement that each state must have in place procedures describing how it would respond to a disaster in accordance with specific criteria, for programs funded under Title IV-B, subparts 1 and 2, or Title IV-E of the SSA . This Administrative Directive will address LDSS responsibilities in meeting this federal requirement.
