93 LCM-147: Food Stamp Provisions of the 1993 Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act: Mickey Leland Childhood Hunger Relief Act

On August 10, 1993, President Clinton signed into law his deficit reduction plan, the 1993 Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (OBRA). A number of food stamp provisions, known as the Mickey Leland Childhood Hunger Relief Act, were included in OBRA. A summary of the final provisions is attached. The effective date for most of the changes is September 1, 1994.
