In June of 1984, the Commissioner of the State Department of Social Services and the Director of the State Office for the Aging (SOFA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the respective roles and responsibilities of social services districts and the area agencies on aging regarding the delivery of services to Protective Services for Adults (PSA) clients. Copies of this MOU were sent to each social services district and area agency on aging in August of 1984 as a framework to be used for the development of local MOUs. The Department and SOFA are now in the process of reviewing this MOU to determine if any revisions are necessary to update this document.
