The purpose of this memorandum is to inform you of the Home and Community- Based Services Waiver for Persons with Traumatic Brain Injuries (HCBS/TBI Waiver) and to describe its current status. This waiver is an important initiative to assure that individuals with traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) are reintegrated into, or can remain in, the community. In addition, the waiver has the potential to achieve significant Medical Assistance (MA) savings due to its focus on the provision of noninstitutional care.
