In accordance with Chapter 474 of the Laws of 1996, effective October 1, 1996, the Department of Health shall act as the single State agency for the administration of the Medical Assistance (MA) program. Under this law, the State Department of Social Services (DSS) retains some MA functions, including responsibility for eligibility determinations. Pursuant to this provision, the State Disability Review Team (DRT) function will be retained within State DSS.
