The purpose of this Directive is to review actions taken thus far by the Department of Health/Office of Medicaid Management (OMM) to assist Local Departments of Social Services (LDSS) to implement the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) privacy provisions as related to their Medicaid operations- (Medicaid Program, Medicaid Managed Care, Child Health Plus-A and Family Health Plus).
