GIS 98 TA/DC002
Reverses the state's policy that a household's move will result in the loss of the standard utility allowance deduction (SUA deduction) even if the move is to HEAP eligible housing.
The GIS states that people who lost their SUA benefits can come in for restoration of the SUA's back to February, 1997 if the household contains a vulnerable individual. For all others, the effective date of this change is 11/17/97.
There is no directive to the Counties to get the word out to people who lost their SUA; so advocates will have to advise their clients to request a review of their SUA eligibility.
