The purpose of this memorandum is to advise local departments of social services (LDSS) of the availability of $3.8 million in state funding provided in the State Fiscal Year (SFY) 2006-07 Budget aimed at preventing detention use and out-of-home placement for prospective or adjudicated Persons in Need of Supervision (PINS) and Juvenile Delinquents (JDs).
