The purpose of this informational letter is to advise social services
districts and foster care and preventive services agencies of the
provisions of Chapter 278 of the Laws of 1990. This chapter extends,
until March 31, 1993 the sunset (expiration) date for statutory
provisions regarding the preventive housing services to facilitate
returning children home from foster care. Housing services include rent
subsidy, rent arrears and other assistance necessary to obtain adequate
housing.
