I. Purpose
The purpose of this Informational Letter is to inform you of bills
passed in the 1990 legislative session related to foster care and
adoption. These bills have now been signed into law by Governor Mario
Cuomo. Effective dates are listed, along with a summary of the
requirements of each bill. The Department will follow up with
regulatory amendments or administrative directives as necessary for
implementation.
