90 ADM-21: Foster Care: Medical Services for Children in Foster Care
I. PURPOSE
The purpose of this directive is to inform you of the provisions of
Department regulations which establish comprehensive standards for medical services for children placed in foster care. The regulations establish uniform requirements, consistent with current recommended medical practice, for the content and frequency of medical examinations. They also require documentation and monitoring of medical services through recording of medical service activities in the progress notes of the uniform case record and the entry of medical examination dates into the Child Care Review Service (CCRS).
