I. PURPOSE
This Directive transmits to social services districts and certified
home health agencies (CHHAs) requirements for the fiscal assessment and
management of home health services provided to Medical Assistance (MA)
eligible individuals.
The revised regulations in 18 NYCRR 505.23 and the provisions discussed
in this Directive define and clarify the roles of the social services
district and the CHHA in the management and fiscal assessment of home
health services pursuant to Section 367-j of the Social Services Law
(SSL), as added by Section 22 of Chapter 165 of the Laws of 1991 and
amended by Sections 68-70 of Chapter 41 of the Laws of 1992.
