The purpose of this GIS message is to provide a revised desk guide based on changes in visa coding instituted by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). The attached desk guide “Key to I-94 Arrival Departure Record” defines the codes on the I-94 document that indicate the provision of the law related to the individual’s status. The desk guide contains the most commonly found codes on the I-94; however, the list is not all-inclusive. The list includes codes for those nonimmigrants who are holders of nonimmigrant visas for the purpose of aiding the eligibility worker in determining Medicaid/FHPlus/CHPlus eligibility.
