I. Purpose
The purpose of this release is to provide clarification on the use of federal categories of temporary assistance to meet the temporary housing needs of families that include at least one member in receipt of Supplemental Security Income (SSI). Additionally, this release cancels 02 INF-11, “Clarification of
Claiming Hierarchy for Persons in Residential Programs for Victims of Domestic Violence and Homeless Family Shelters, including Tier I and Tier II Homeless Shelters” and provides a new claiming hierarchy for temporary assistance categories.
