The purpose of this transmittal is to advise you that this Office has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP), pursuant to Section 35 of the Social Services Law, to solicit proposals from eligible organizations (not-for profit agencies serving the disabled, and social services districts) for the provision of legal advocacy services for persons whose federal social security disability benefits have been denied or may be discontinued, and who, as a result, are at risk of becoming dependent for support and care upon public and private agencies.
