The purpose of this memorandum is to inform you of a statewide teleconference on prevention entitled, "Promoting School Success Through Community Partnerships" to be held on Thursday, April 17th. Several State agency commissioners, including Acting Commissioner Wing and John Johnson, Director of the Division for Youth will be participating in this teleconference which is sponsored by United Way of New York State, New York State Departments of Education and Health, New York State School Boards Association, and their partners. Its purpose is to highlight the importance of prevention, underscoring the relationship between child well-being and success in school, and promoting school/health/human services linkages as key to improvements in child well-being and success in school. Information on model collaborations from across the state will be presented.
