The purpose of this Administrative Directive is to advise local departments of social services that because of an amendment to Department regulations (18 NVCRR 360-7.7) and because of the new Medicare Part A provisions of the Medicare catastrophic Coverage Act of 1988 (P.L. 100-360), they should reconsider the cost effectiveness of paying premiums for insurance policies which cover amounts not paid by Medicare but which are required to be paid by the Medical Assistance (MA) Program.
