Chapter 527 of the Laws of 1984 authorizes a pass-through of the January 1, 1985 federa1 SSI cost-of-living increase. This results in the standard of need for most SSI recipients being increased by the amount of the pass-through.
The purpose of this directive is to advise local social services districts about the impact of Chapter 527 and how to budget the statutory increases in the SSI standards of need for Home Relief (HR) purposes.
