The purpose of this message is to inform local departments of social services (LDSS) of the impact of Department of Health and Human Services' Office of the Inspector General's (HHS OIG) exclusion program, mandated by the U.S. Congress (ยง 1862(e)(1)(B) of the Social Security Act and 42 CFR 1001.1901). The exclusion program disallows any Medicaid payments for any items or services furnished, ordered or prescribed by an excluded individual or entity.
