The purpose of this Local Commissioners Memorandum (LCM) is to advise social services districts of the availability of $4.7 million of Local Assistance General Funds in the State Fiscal Year (SFY) 2007-2008 Enacted Budget for the improvement of child protective services staff-to-client ratios. The funds may only be used to hire additional child protective services caseworkers and/or supervisors in the workforce. This LCM provides information on how social services districts may apply for these funds; the criteria that OCFS will use to determine which applying social services districts will be funded and the amount they will receive; and the claiming requirements.
