(This Policy Directive Obsoletes PD #07-42-OPE)
This policy directive has been revised to:
• Remind Workers in Job Centers that applicants who have selected the “Emergency Payment Only” option on the Statewide Application (LDSS-2921) to apply for a “one-shot deal” are not to be screened for Expedited Food Stamp (EFS) service.
• Instruct Workers to inform applicants that eligibility to receive Food Stamps (FS) under the EFS criteria will be lost if they fail to make themselves available for an interview within seven days.
• Clarify instructions regarding the preparation and issuance of the Notice of Denial of Expedited Food Stamp Service or Inability to Issue Food Stamp Benefits form (M-40k) for applicants determined eligible for EFS service who do not make themselves available for an interview within seven days.
