As a condition for continued eligibility for Public Assistance (PA) all participants must be recertified at specified intervals through a face-to-face interview. If because of age, handicap or other verifiable limiting conditions the participant is unable to appear for a face-to-face interview, the agency must make appropriate arrangements to accommodate the individual.
For PA participants mandated into residential substance abuse treatment facilities located outside of the five boroughs of New York City but within the state, the Human Resources Administration (HRA)/Family Independence Administration (FIA) will facilitate face-to-face recertifications via videoconference interviews.
