The purpose of this policy bulletin is to announce a new eviction prevention initiative which began on November 6, 2014 and was designed to make the Cash Assistance (CA) application process more easily accessible to families and individuals in danger of eviction. In addition, this policy bulletin provides instructions to Rental Assistance Unit (RAU) staff at Housing Courts throughout the five boroughs and at selected HomeBase programs who will take CA emergency rental assistance applications (one shot deals).
Instructions to Job Center, CA Centralized Interview Rescheduling Unit (CIRU) and Centralized Rent Processing Unit (CRPU) staff are also included.
