The purpose of this policy bulletin is to inform Homelessness Diversion Unit (HDU) staff at the Department of Homeless Services (DHS) intake centers, and Job Center staff that singles and adult families seeking temporary emergency shelter at a DHS intake center have the option to apply for Cash Assistance (CA) when they are referred by DHS staff to HDU. This policy bulletin is informational for all others.
