The purpose of this policy bulletin is to inform Non Cash Assistance Food Stamp (NCA FS) Center staff of a $35 increase in the New York State Nutrition Improvement Project (NYSNIP) standardized benefit levels effective May 1, 2012, for households that have Shelter Type Code 98 (SSI Shelter Cost and SUA Unknown).
The Food Stamp benefit level for households that have NYSNIP Shelter Type Code 98 that receive income from Supplemental Security Income (SSI) only, will increase from $51 to $86 and the Food Stamp benefit level for households that have NYSNIP Shelter Type Code 98 and receive SSI and other income, will increase from $47 to $82. All other NYSNIP benefit levels will remain the same.
