The purpose of this policy bulletin is to notify all Job Center and Non Cash Assistance Food Stamp (NCA FS) staff that the United States Department of State has begun issuing a new United States Passport Card to all citizens interested in applying. The new card can be used to enter the United States from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Bermuda at land border crossings or sea ports-of-entry.
The new U.S. Passport Card is a valid U.S. Passport. If an applicant/participant at the Job Center presents this card as proof of citizenship, the worker must review the card as though it were a U.S.Passport Book. The U.S. Passport Card is only issued to U.S. citizens, and therefore is an acceptable form of identification.
