95-46: Removal of Scheduling Restrictions for Nassau County Personal Care Services Hearing Requests (12/19/95)

It is no longer required that Nassau County Personal Care Services cases (Subcategory SPH) be restricted to certain days of the week since the agency intends to utilize nurses to represent on these cases rather than physicians who had certain scheduling limitations. The SPH subcategory should still be utilized to assist the Scheduling Unit in limiting the number of these cases on any particular day, since they require considerable time per case.

There are also no scheduling restrictions for Nassau County Personal Emergency Response System (PERS) (Issue Code 291/292) or Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA )(Issue Code 261) cases.

Please note: Suffolk County Personal Care Services, PERS, and CHHA cases should continue to be restricted to any day except Friday. Further, this change does not affect the current practice of restricting NEMP (Nassau County Medical Employability) cases to certain days.
