96-07: Double Postmark DSS 457s (03/19/96)

An entire mailbag of letters originally postmarked March 5, 1996 was not posted for delivery until March 12, 1996 and was, therefore, cancelled with a second postmark date. These letters included Notices of Fair Hearing (DSS-457s) for the hearing date March 19, 1996.

Any requests for adjournments or reopens based on the fact that the Notice of Fair Hearing (DSS-457) had a double postmark, and for which the appellant or representative claims insufficient time to prepare, should be granted. If the original aid status was aid continuing, it shall remain aid continuing. It is not necessary that verification of the double postmark be forwarded to this office, at this time.
