Grant Manager/Bookkeeper

 

The Western New York Law Center, Inc. (WNYLC) is seeking a full time Grant Manager/Bookkeeper to manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, grant and organizational budgets, and grant allocations using QuickBooks Online and Salesforce.

 

The Manager will have the following responsibilities at minimum:

  • ensure that grants are spent properly and within the specified timeframes;
  • complete budget reporting, and coordinate narrative reporting, and submit reports timely;
  • compile and submit timely requests for payment for reimbursable grants;
  • ensure State Financial Services System/Grants Gateway information is correctly submitted;
  • assist program managers with developing grant-specific budgets that conform to the organizational budget, and coordinate with subcontracted agencies;
  • draft organizational budget in consultation with program managers, executive director, and director of operations;
  • monitor Salesforce data for compliance with organizational policies and grant reporting needs;
  • develop and review reports in Salesforce;
  • review and pay invoices, properly allocating to grant sources; receive and allocate payments;
  • maintain grant contracts and related files;
  • maintain finance policy and procedures manual;
  • coordinate annual audit and submission of Form 990 and Char-500; and
  • perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Deep understanding of grant accounting using QuickBooks or equivalent experience with for-profit job costing procedures.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Strong collaboration, cooperation and interpersonal skills within a diverse organization serving diverse populations.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, master's degree in accounting, business, public administration, or related field strongly preferred.

 

Salary & Benefits

WNYLC offers a competitive salary and generous benefits package, which includes a platinum health insurance plan with flexible spending account (FSA) funds given to employees each year, and generous leave packages (up to 70 hours of sick time, 14 hours of personal time, and 105-161 hours of vacation time per year). The salary range for this position is $55,000 - $65,000 depending on experience, with a 35-hour work week. Full-time employees receive individual life insurance term policies in an amount equal to two times the employee’s annual salary (up to $200,000.) The Board of Directors considers an annual retirement benefit expressed as a percentage of the employee’s annual salary.

A not-for-profit corporation formed in 1996, WNYLC primarily represents low-income Western New Yorkers in civil matters, including consumer debt, foreclosure prevention, eviction defense, and bankruptcy. It also promotes community wellbeing with a program that targets vacant and abandoned properties, and a clinic to help new businesses with formation and contract issues.
