Overview: For more than 50 years, Nassau Suffolk Law Services (NSLS) has been providing free, high-quality legal counsel in civil matters when basic human needs are at stake including, eviction and foreclosure prevention, income maintenance, disability, elder law, healthcare, education, consumer fraud and more. As the only provider of comprehensive civil legal services on Long Island, our services support thousands of poor and low-income families and individuals who cannot afford an attorney. With the gap separating those who can and cannot afford legal representation widening each day, we work to ensure that everyone has equal access to justice, regardless of their ability to pay. NSLS has a staff of over hundred employees situated in three offices across Long Island.
Duties: The representation of victims of Domestic violence in Suffolk County in Family Court, Supreme Court and administrative hearings. Issues may include orders of protection, custody, visitation, child and spousal support, divorce and lease termination pursuant to relevant domestic violence related to statute. A general knowledge of public benefits law preferred. Participation in community legal education is also expected.
Requirements: Nassau Suffolk Law Services is a nonprofit organization providing free legal services to low-income households. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus. Applicants are expected to bring a commitment to the representation of low-income papulation Admission to the new York State Bar, or having passed New York State Bar examination is preferred.

Salary: $60,458.00-$84,178.00 D.O.E
