***Clients should bring one or all of the above three documents to the DSS office when applying for an MSP, just in case the Medicaid rep A) does not know about the MSPs, B) insists that a client use a Medicaid application, instead of the “short” form, to apply for SLMB or QI-1, or C) requests proof of assets.
***Both the ADM linked above and the Medicaid Reference Guide indicate that clients do not need to have Medicare Part B in order to be eligible for an MSP. Enrollment in an MSP will provide this coverage. Clients should not be denied MSP benefits because of no Part B enrollment.
